Record the comparison, timing and unresolved design decisions before discussing a protocol.
Planning guide · Getting started Use for: Prepare the first project conversation Reviewed:
Describe the primary question, intended research use and comparison. Identify independent groups, paired specimens or repeated measurements where known.
Record collection timing, available specimen count, metadata and measurement progress; keep unknowns explicit.
Use the brief to list open questions. It does not calculate sample size or replace a study-specific analysis plan.
Prepare permissions, outputs and project logistics
Resolve practical scope and permission questions before work starts.
Planning guide · Getting started Use for: Scope a research collaboration Reviewed:
Bring a general description of the inputs, permitted use, budget responsibility, timing and desired outputs. Do not upload participant data or confidential datasets here.
Agree deliverables, acceptance, responsibilities, fees, payment milestones and input/output rights in the project agreement.
Do not ship specimens or transfer restricted data until the actual recipient, handling route and permissions are agreed. An inquiry receipt or proposal draft is not a signed agreement.
These guides support research preparation. They are not a study-specific protocol, sample-size recommendation, assay-suitability assessment, medical advice or quotation.
